Thirst Project- 2nd Annual Thirst Gala

SHE Boutique was proud to be a sponsor of the Thirst Project's 2nd Annual Thirst Gala on June 28, 2011. We are excited to report that the event raised more than $150,000 for the Thirst Project!

The Thirst Project is a movement of high school and college students raising awareness of and brining solutions to the global water crisis.  A staggering one billion people on the planet don't have access to safe, clean drinking water and proper sanitation, causing the deaths of 4,500 children a year.  The Thirst Project, founded by Seth Maxwell, wants to change this. The project travels the country, visiting middle schools, high schools, and college campuses, helping to equip the students with the knowledge and resources needed to start their own fundraisers to make an impact on the issue. By 2015, the project's goal is to provide safe, clean water and sanitation to one million people.

The 2nd Annual Thirst Gala was hosted Chyler Leigh, of Grey's Anatomy, and JR Bourne, star of MTV's Teen's Wolf. The evening began with a fabulous cocktail reception and silent auction, which was then followed with a live auction, gala dinner and live entertainment. Over 25 different media outlets were in attendance, as well as the entire cast of MTV's Teen Wolf.
